Terms and Conditions

1οBooking Information:

Car Rental from Plexicar can be conducted either through an online booking on our website or by contacting our specialized staff via phone.

Upon picking up the rented car, the driver will be required to present an identification card or a passport, driver’s license, and payment card, displaying their name.

Car Bookings are for a specific vehicle category, without a commitment to a particular model. In case the selected vehicle category is unavailable, always with a confirmed booking, Plexicar may provide a car of a higher category at no extra cost to the customer. However, the guarantee amount will correspond to the category of the car received by the customer.

2οGuarantee

Upon picking up the rented car Plexicar will secure a guarantee amount via the driver’s credit/debit card. The guarantee amount will be refunded to the customer intact at the end of the rental, provided there are no additional charges.The release of the amount may take up to 14 working days from the rental end date, depending on the issuing bank of the card. The guarantee amount is contingent on the rented category.

3οBooking Cancellation:

If you wish to cancel your confirmed booking, you must inform Plexicar, either by phone or e-mail at least 48 hours prior to the start of the car rental. Specifically:

  1. In the case of customer notification for cancellation of a confirmed booking at least forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled start of the vehicle rental (the exact date and time is determined by the Plexicar), any pre-paid amount will be refunded.
    The refund processing time may take up to 14 working days, depending on the issuing bank of the card.
  2. In the case of customer notification for cancellation of a confirmed booking less than forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled start of the vehicle rental (the exact date and time is determined by the Plexicar), any pre-paid amount will not be refunded.

4οAdditional Drivers

An additional charge is imposed for each respective extra driver, whose details are indicated on the rental form only if the additional driver presents a valid driver's license.

5οDriver(s) Age

The permitted driving age for the rented car must be at least 21 years old, and the driver must have held a valid driver's license for at least 1 year.

6οDriver’s License

The driver’s license of the rented car must have been issued at least one year before the rental start date.

The driver must either hold a driver’s license issued by a European Union country or possess an International Driving Permit. The International Driver Permit must be accompanied by the driver’s license of the car driver’s country.

According to Greek law, a valid license is considered to be issued by the countries:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Denmark, Greece, Switzerland, Estonia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Czech Republic, and Finland.

7οPayment Method

For car rental with Plexicar a deposit is required. The deposit can be secured using a credit or debit card, even if the rental payment is made in cash.

The customer must present a personal credit or debit card for the car pickup.

A certain amount will be reserved on the credit/debit card at the beginning of the rental.

The deposited amount will not be immediately available for use on your card, and the release of the deposit may take up to 14 business days, depending on your bank. Plexicar  is not responsible for any bank fees/costs associated with this process.


8οCar Transport

  1. The movement of rented cars from Plexicar beyond borders is not allowed.
  2. The transport of rented cars by ship is permitted only with written or electronic authorization from Plexicar

9οCar Pickup and Deliver & Costs

  1. It is free at all our stations
  2. At other locations within the city, there is the possibility, upon arrangement with the company, and subject to an additional charge.
  3. Car rental outside working hours by the customer is done by arrangement with Plexicar,  either by phone or by e-mail, during the reservation. In this case, an additional charge is applied for providing the service

10οPlexicar Insurance Coverage & Costs

All drivers authorized by Plexicar are exempt from damages to the rented car caused by fire, and they are insured for third-party liability for death, bodily injury, and property damage.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) Exemption: Included as an extra provision with a daily cost depending on the selected category of the rented vehicle. Damages to the lower part of the car and to the tires are not covered. CDW insurance does not cover:

  1. Intentional damage or damage due to serious negligence by the driver.

 

  1. Damage resulting from driving under the influence of alcohol, stimulants, or sedatives, or other substances that render the driver unable to operate the vehicle safely.

 

  1. Damage due to racing or test driving.

 

  1. Damages caused by animals.

 

  1. Holes from burning in seats, upholstery, or carpets.

 

  1. Damage affecting wheels, tires, suspensions, batteries, glass damages, radio, or damages resulting from the theft of parts of the vehicle.

 

  1. Damage caused by driving on rough roads, to the vehicle's gearbox, in traffic, or in other areas located within or attached to the frame. Damages under the chassis resulting from poor driving on uneven/rough roads. The same applies to damages resulting from stones being thrown, hitting the underside of the vehicle during driving.

 

  1. Damages caused by driving in areas where vehicle circulation is prohibited, such as paths, rivers, or streams without bridging, beaches, and off-road areas. However, compensation will be provided for damage if the driver is forced to leave the road, for example, due to road repairs.

 

  1. Damage caused by the introduction of sand, gravel, ash, or other types of soil into the vehicle.

 

  1. Damages and losses of items from the interior of the car in case of theft of the vehicle.

 

  1. What is the 'mixed exemption insurance' mentioned in the insurance terms?

 

The specified amount for which you are liable for the rented car in the event of an accident or theft and must be paid in each case.

 

The tenant can purchase additional protection from damages separately (Super Collision Damage Waiver-SCDW) and thus reduce the amount of the exemption. The specific SCDW insurance does not cover:

 

  1. Intentional damage or damage due to the driver's negligence.

  1. Damage due to racing or test driving.

 

  1. Damages caused by animals.

IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT OR ANY OTHER INCIDENT (FIRE, THEFT, ETC.), THE CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE TO FOLLOW THE INSURANCE PROCEDURE AS DEFINED BELOW:

Call the police. Obtain names and addresses of eyewitnesses. Do not accept any liability for the accident. Contact the company immediately. Gather all relevant information from the accident scene or from third parties. Complete and sign an accident report within 24 hours of the accident.

11οAdditional Services:

  1. Infant seats, child seats, and booster seat systems are available for an additional charge.
  2. Snow chains are available for an extra fee.
  3. Navigation systems are available for an additional charge.

12οFuel

The customer is required to return the car with the same amount of fuel as when it was received. In the event of returning the car with less fuel than initially received (i.e., the amount of fuel the customer received the vehicle with), the customer will be charged a fine, in addition to the cost of the consumed fuel.

No refund is provided to the customer if the car is returned with a greater amount of fuel than it was received. 

13οTraffic Violations

The customer is responsible for all parking and traffic violations and must settle them during the rental period, even if discovered after the return of the vehicle, always within the rental period. Calls and subsequent administrative penalties resulting from traffic violations during the rental period are the responsibility of the renters.

  1. In case of license plate removal, the renter must pay the amount indicated in the notification and an administrative fee of €35 plus VAT, called the 'Incident Reporting Fee.'
  2. Traffic Violations:
    Fines and any other consequences of violations of the Road Traffic Code (KOK) are entirely and exclusively the responsibility of the car renter.
  3. Grace Period:
    One day of rental is calculated as 24 hours and 29 minutes. If the rental exceeds this period, an additional rental day will be charged.

  4. Late Return Charge: 
    All customers must inform Plexicar about the extension of the rental to avoid the imposition of the Late Return Charge. If the car is returned with a delay of 1 hour or more from the agreed return time, a Late Return Charge will apply.
  5. Additional Cleaning Charge: Applied if, upon return, the vehicle requires cleaning beyond the usual to prepare it for the next rental."

 

 

14οCancellation of Rental Contract

The company reserves the right to unilaterally terminate the lease without prior notice and immediately collect the vehicle in the event that:

  1. The vehicle is involved in an accident, is not operational, or requires repair or rescue.
  2. The renter has not paid an invoice or any other payment request (either oral or written), or the charge to the renter's credit or debit card was declined.
  3. The bank rejects the charge made to the renter's credit card, and the outstanding amount is not paid within 24 hours of the notification that the amount is pending.
  4. It is required by the Police or other regulatory authority for the company to take possession of the vehicle.
  5. The company reasonably believes that the renter has materially violated or is likely to materially violate the lease agreement.
  6. The vehicle is not returned by the agreed-upon date and time.
  7. The company reasonably believes that the vehicle is at risk of damage.

In the event of termination and/or repossession, the renter is not entitled to a refund of any portion of the rental charges, provided that termination and/or repossession are due to actions or omissions of the renter.
